What to include in my portfolio?

This was always a tough choice for me. I am never sure what to include and what to leave out. For this website I have used all my most recent work—it was all designed within the last year. I did not include any of my work from HND1, the reason for this is that I think I have grown as a designer and have gotten better. I would definitely like to go back and make the work I completed throughout my HND better—bring up to the same standard as my work now.

Although I love some of my work from my HND, I chose not to include it because I don’t want to be padding out my folio. I would love to include it all but the viewer would get bored by the time they got the end and that is definitely not what you want. As my lecturers remind me that when employers view a portfolio they tend to make their mind up by the time they get to the 3rd piece of work. I want to wow someone and make them want to hire me and if that means I only have 5 pieces of work in my folio then so be it. As the saying goes, it’s quality over quantity.
